IPL 2024 Auction: Only 3 Indians out of 23 have put themselves in Rs 2 crore price bracket; Check out names here:

The stage is all set for the IPL auction 2024, which is to take place on December 19 in Dubai. Notably, a thousand players have booked their spots for the auctions, but only 333 players are available for the spot; 214 will be the Indians, and the rest, 119, will be overseas players. However, 116 are capped players, and 215 are uncapped players who will be picked in the auction.

Notably, the retention and release list have already taken place ahead of the IPL mini-auction. Players have kept their base price ranging from 50 lakhs to 2 crores, which the IPL’s governing body has made public. However, a total of 23 players have kept their base price at around 2 crores, of which only 3 are Indians and the rest are overseas players.

Talking about the overseas players, Travis Head, Mitchell Starc, Pat Cummins, Josh Hazlewood, and Josh Inglis were the match winners, which is defintely worthy of two crores, owing to their brilliant performances in the ODI World Cup 2023. However, there are a few players who have set the bar too high, and they have a full chance of getting ignored.

Meanwhile, there are only three Indian players who have set the mark of 2 crore. However, it seems Shardul Thakur will go for 2 crores despite being released by KKR ahead of the mini-auction. Shardul Thakur was part of the Asia Cup 2023 and the ODI World Cup in 2023. Notably, Umesh Yadav was given the chance in the WTC Final, but he failed to make an impact. On the other hand, RCB has also released Harshal Patel ahead of the auctions.
