Wasim Jaffer suggests one big rule change –

Former Indian star Wasim Jaffer has suggested a massive rule change for the IPL 2024 season. According to the 45-year-old, the impact player rule should be done away with for the next season.

Taking to Twitter, Wasim Jaffer wrote “I think IPL needs to take away the impact player rule. As it’s not encouraging the all-rounders to bowl much and lack of AR’s and batters not bowling is a major area of concern for Indian cricket”. The former India batter asked fans for their thoughts at the end of the tweet.

Fans came up with mixed reactions to the question posed by Wasim Jaffer. Some wrote their opinions in favour of the rule, while some were against it. There is no denying the fact that there were massive changes seen since the rule came into effect. Many former cricketers spoke about how the new rule has changed the dynamics of the game for good.

Team India is set to play South Africa in their first T20I on Sunday in Durban. There is a fair amount of cloud cover and rain could play a role during the game. India is set to welcome back a few of their star players for the huge series starting on Sunday.

Aakash Chopra picked Shubman Gill and Ruturaj Gaikwad as his two openers for the game on Sunday. Yashasvi Jaiswal has been in great form with the bat during the recent series against Australia. The former India star also implored the team management to stick with Jitesh Sharma ahead of Ishan Kishan.

Shubman Gill is back in the Indian colours after being rested for the previous series. The 24-year-old will hope to end the year on a high and help India to yet another series win. Ravindra Jadeja who is the vice-captain of the side is also expected to play a major role during the tour.
