‘It is very easy to criticize the team on social media’ – Ravichandran Ashwin hits back on critics following T20I series loss against West Indies

The Men in Blue have suffered a 2-3 loss in the five-match T20I series against West Indies. Notably, Team India had a great comeback during the third and fourth T20Is, but Hardik Pandya’s side could not continue that winning momentum during the last T20I, which led to the loss in the series against Powell and Co. on August 13. Moreover, after the loss, a plethora of fans and cricket pundits are slamming the Team for losing against a frail team.

Meanwhile, India’s star all-rounder, Ravichandran Ashwin, hits back at critics by calling this a learning stage for youngsters. Notably, the 36-year-old cricketer says there were a lot of positive things in the T20I series. In addition, the great spinner says it is very easy to criticize players for losing against a team that hasn’t qualified for the upcoming ODI World Cup or the last T20I World Cup.

It is very easy to criticize the team on social media: Ravichandran Ashwin

“There are plenty of positives from this T20I series. It is very easy to criticize the team on social media since they lost to a team that did not qualify for the last T20 World Cup. They have not qualified for the upcoming 50-over World Cup as well. I want to give a piece of information to you guys,” Ashwin said on his YouTube channel.

Moreover, the right-handed batter also clarifies that he is not backing or supporting the Hardik Pandya-led side for the loss. Furthermore, the leg spinner explained that the young side will definitely have challenges as this is their learning stage. In addition, the Chennai-born cricketer urged people to see the loss from another perspective.

I am not talking, backing, or supporting anybody. All of these are secondary. As a youngster, if you are going to the West Indies, there will be some challenges. Losing the series 3-2 to West Indies…many of them are criticizing and upset. It’s okay and understandable. It’s only fair, I guess. But we can see this loss from two perspectives. The players will get experience from this series,” he added further.
