New Zealand star batter Kane Williamson is away from their international commitments

Meanwhile, New Zealand star batter Kane Williamson and India’s batting master Virat Kohli are both away from their international commitments at this time due to the birth of their children. While Williamson took a paternity leave during New Zealand’s three-match T20I series against Australia at home, Virat Kohli missed the full five-match Test series against England to spend time with his family.

However, during the Test series against South Africa, the legendary Kiwi opener played brilliantly. The right-hander batter guided his side to their first series victory over the Proteas in over 90 years, scoring three hundred in four innings against a drastically weakened South African team lacking its key players. Notably, all the main players from South Africa were part of the SA20 2024 league, which was the preparation for the T20 World Cup 2024, slated to take place on June 1 in the West Indies and the USA.
