‘Aa jao wapas’ – Fans react as KL Rahul opens up on heart-warming connection with RCB ahead of IPL 2024

India’s star cricketer KL Rahul has recently shared about his emotions with his first IPL franchise, Royal Challengers Bangalore. Notably, the wicketkeeper batter revealed that playing for the franchise was his childhood dream. KL Rahul made his IPL debut for RCB back in 2013, but he played for SRH in 2014 and 2015. The great cricketer joined RCB in 2016, where he finished as the third-leading run scorer and guided his franchise to the finals.

The LSG skipper reveals that the RCB franchise allowed him to showcase his talent as a child. In addition, the stylish right-handed batter says that RCB is very close to his heart, and he was lucky enough to play for the franchise, which makes him learn a lot.

“RCB gave me the opportunity to showcase my talent when I was young. I am also from Bangalore, so I always dreamt of playing for RCB when the IPL started. I was lucky that I got to play for them for a few years, so RCB is very close to my heart,” KL Rahul told SG Cricket.

Meanwhile, former India cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar heaps praise on KL Rahul ahead of the IPL 2024. The well-renowned cricket commentator has compared him with former India skipper MS Dhoni ahead of the Test series against South Africa, which is slated to take place on December 26 in Centurion.

“These days, when you see KL Rahul on the ground, he looks very relaxed and in a good mind space. He captained as expected. Rahul looks comfortable in the leadership role. He has led a lot in the IPL, in a Test match in South Africa and in one-day matches as well. You can expect KL Rahul not to make any big mistakes. He is an expert in DRS. His instinct is equal to MS Dhoni,” Sanjay Manjrekar said in an interview with ESPNCricinfo.
