‘Very well said’ – Fans react as KL Rahul opens up on his magnificent comeback in ODI World Cup 2023 after injury setback

India’s star cricketer, KL Rahul, has recently opened up about his stellar journey after his comeback to international cricket from his injuries. Notably, the wicketkeeper batter was injured during the IPL 2023 clash between LSG and RCB. The grave injury ruled him out of half the IPL 2023, the WTC Final, the West Indies tour, and the Ireland tour.

Notably, the middle-order batter made his comeback in the Asia Cup 2023 against Pakistan, where he hammered the tonne against Pakistan and scored over 200 runs with Virat Kohli in the Super Fours at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Kandy.

KL Rahul revealed that he had much pressure to make his comeback as the team needed him in the middle order. In addition, the 31-year-old cricketer reveals that he will have regrets about not winning the ODI World Cup 2023 once he retires.

“During all of this time, I knew there was pressure to come back and all of that, but I had such a bad event that happened in my life that everything else seemed like, okay, it doesn’t, really matter. 10 or 15 years later when we retire we will not remember our career for Bilateral series – World Cups are the only thing that we will remember – there is that extra fire in us to go a couple of steps further the next time,” KL Rahul said on Star Sports.

However, the stylish right-handed batter also opened up about how he made his comeback despite being told to wait five months to play cricket.

“I couldn’t walk for the first three or four weeks. Me on the walker and, then slowly started building myself up during all that time. I don’t think it’s possible to make it in time for the World Cup. That’s what the surgeon told us as well. He said it would take five months from the time of surgery. You can’t just come straight back into the World Cup,” he added further.
