‘Kuch toh log kahenge….’ – Yuvraj Singh’s response to critics questioning Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma’s T20I return ahead of T20 World Cup 2024
Former India cricketer Yuvraj Singh feels there is nothing wrong with Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli making their return to T20I cricket after a gap of 14 months. Notably, India’s batting masters Kohli and Rohit didn’t get the chance to play in the T20Is since India’s heartbreaking 10-wicket loss against England in the semi-final of the T20 World Cup 2022 back in Adelaide.
However, the former all-rounder took a dig at critics while quoting the famous and iconic song of Kishore Kumar. Meanwhile, the 2011 ODI World Cup-winning star feels the players need to manage their workload ahead of the T20 World Cup in 2024.
“Kuch toh log kahenge, logon ka kaam hai kehna. It’s because they play all three formats, they are back after 14 months. You have to manage your workload if you play the three formats. It’s a question for the selectors,” Yuvraj Singh said to PTI.
Rohit Sharma has always been very instrumental in getting the best out of Hardik Pandya: Yuvraj Singh
Meanwhile, the 2007 T20 World Cup-winning star also talked about the captain for the 2024 T20 World Cup. Yuvraj kept Rohit ahead of Hardik Pandya while accepting that there was stiff competition between them. In addition, the former middle-order batter feels they should talk to each other if they have any problems with each other. Furthermore, the southpaw also came up with great suggestions for India’s star cricketers.
“When players play together these things happen. If they have an issue they should definitely sit and talk about it. Rohit has always been very instrumental in getting the best out of Hardik whenever he has played for Mumbai Indians, especially in terms of his bowling to manage his workload. Hardik has always been always good with the bat at death. Whenever you are playing for your country, your priority is to put everything aside and give your 100 per cent. They both are professionals, if they have any issue they will put it aside and give 100 per cent for the country,” he added further.
