‘Lagta h dil tuta h kisi k pyar mai’ – Prithvi Shaw shares cryptic post about ‘love’ and ‘loyalty’

During the past several weeks, Indian opener Prithvi Shaw has continued to be in news. Shaw was finally chosen in India’s team for the T20I series against New Zealand in January this year after being repeatedly ignored by national selection. Shaw didn’t play in the series, but things seemed to be looking up for his international career until an incident on February 15 pushed him back into the spotlight.

During an argument with a social media influencer named Sapna Gill, Shaw was allegedly beaten for declining a selfie. Sapna Gill also requested the registration of an FIR against Shaw and others in a Mumbai police station for allegedly harassing her.

In the midst of the issues, Shaw just shared a mysterious Instagram story in which he appears to target people who use him for their own benefit. “Some people will only ‘love you’ as much as they can use you. Their loyalty ends where the benefits stop,” Shaw wrote in his Instagram story.

In a T20I match against Sri Lanka in July 2021, Shaw made his last appearance for India. Since then, he has consistently played for Mumbai, the domestic team he also led to the Ranji Trophy last year. Shaw is a member of the Delhi franchise in the Indian T20 League. The young opener has scored 283 runs in 10 matches throughout the season while playing at an exceptional strike rate of 147.45 and was one of the players retained by the Delhi-based franchise before the 2022 edition.

Recently, Chetan Sakariya and Manish Pandey, among other domestic players, participated in a three-day camp in Kolkata with Shaw. Former Indian Cricket Board president and Delhi franchise’s Director of Cricket, Sourav Ganguly kept an eye on it.
