‘Lord Mukesh ko kuch sikhna chahiye’ – Fans react as Jasprit Bumrah claims 6-wicket haul against England in 2nd Test
Jasprit Bumrah without any doubt is having one of the best matches of his life as he claimed a six-wicket haul in the 2nd Test match against England. Starting from bowling fierce yorkers to Joe Root and Ollie Pope to taking six wickets within two sessions, Bumrah has proved that he is the most reliant bowler India has. Due to Bumrah’s bowling, the day belonged to India.
India started their day 2 with 336 runs on the board along with Yashasvi Jaiswal batting at 179 runs. However, as the session proceeded, the batters lost their momentum and ended up giving away their wickets. India ended their first innings at 396 runs. As usual, England had a good start but once they lost Ben Duckett’s wicket, the entire batting line-up shattered with the next two sessions.
Except for Zak Crawley and Ben Stokes, no other batter scored above 30 runs. The bowlers did a great job in dismissing the entire team within 253 runs. This allowed the hosts to get a lead of 143 runs. As the day ended, India took a lead of 171 runs with Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal on the crease.
‘You always enjoy when you get rewards’ – Jasprit Bumrah talks about his bowling after stumps on Day 2
In times of need, India goes back to their best bowler, Jasprit Bumrah. In the 2nd Test match against England, Bumrah went on to take six wickets within two sessions and bowled out the visitors at 253 runs. After the match ended, Bumrah spoke about his bowling experience on day 2. He also talked about the magnificent yorkers he bowled and what impact it had on the match.
Bumrah said, “You always enjoy when you get rewards. In India, reverse swing plays a big role. Born in this country, you know how to use it to your advantage. In India, you have to learn how to bowl in reverse. I’ve grown up watching reverse swing setups, and legendary bowlers bowling magical deliveries. To be able to do it now, very happy with that. When you bowl reverse, people try to bowl magical deliveries every other ball. You have to be patient with that.”
Top class performance 👏
