‘They have lost games in the Bazball era….’ – Former English skipper launches scathing attack on Ben Stokes’ led side after defeat in 3rd Test vs India
Former England cricketer Michael Vaughan has lashed out at the Ben Stokes-led side after their side failed to win the third Test match against India at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Rajkot on February 18. Notably, Team India posted 445 and 430 runs in the first and second innings, respectively. However, the visiting sides were just able to rack up 319 and 122 runs, respectively, while handing the hosts the 434-run win and the 2-1 lead.
However, Michael Vaughan feels that Team India exposed England’s Bazball very badly in the Rajkot Test game. The well-renowned cricket commentator feels that the pitch played the greatest role, but Team India played with the greatest intensity as compared to England. In addition, the legendary cricketer also lashed out at the England team for blaming the pitch issues. The former English skipper believes that Rohit Sharma and Co. not only exposed Bazball for the hammer England side very badly.
“I am afraid Bazball has been exposed this week. It’s great when it works. The first Test was a pitch that did all sorts so I get Bazball on that pitch, but not the last two where the pitches have been absolutely fine to just play with positive intent but more so common sense. Let’s be honest, this could get messy for England. They have lost games in the Bazball era but they have never really been hammered. This could be the first,” Michael Vaughan said on BBC.
England team have lost in the last 2 years you have always been able to take positives: Michael Vaughan
Meanwhile, Michael Vaughan also took to social media and shared his advice with the Ben Stokes-led side, leading the England side to face quality teams like India for the red ball game.
“Even when this England team have lost in the last 2 years you have always been able to take positives .. or they haven’t been hammered .. this is looking like a wake-up call that surely sends a message you can’t just play one way against quality teams,” Michael Vaughan had posted on X (formerly Twitter).
