Michael Vaughan makes huge claim on young Shoaib Bashir

Michael Vaughan has made a huge claim on Shoaib Bashir. Following the great performance of the young spinner in Ranchi in the 4th Test between India and England, the former England skipper has claimed Bashir to be the next big thing in England in Test cricket. It seems like Vaughan is in awe of the young spinner after his spell against India in Ranchi.

Talking about the same, the former England batter claimed that Bashir is one for the future. He felt that Bashir was the biggest outcome for England in the series. He was of the opinion that England must celebrate his bowling in the series till now. Vaughan claimed that England unearthed a future superstar in the form of Bashir in the ongoing tour of India.

Vaughan claimed that Bashir is the new Ravi Ashwin and felt he could be the next big player for England in the longest format of the game. “England should celebrate for unearthing another superstar on the Indian tour. Shoaib Bashir is the new R Ashwin, and he will be a big player for England,” claimed Vaughan. Though England lost the 4th Test, Bashir was impressive with the ball.

Shoaib Bashir’s performance in Ranchi

In the second Test of the series, Bashir made his debut and claimed four wickets in the first innings. Though he was dropped for the third Test, he came back to the side in the 4th Test and impressed everyone. In the first innings, Bashir claimed five wickets and ran through the Indian batting. He was the main reason for England getting the lead in the first innings in Ranchi against India.

In the 2nd innings, England claimed five wickets and three of them were a result of Bashir’s bowling. The young spinner claimed a total of eight wickets and was praised by a lot of former England cricketers. The experts believe that he could be the next big spinner from England. Some also feel that he needs to perform well in the home conditions.
