‘Mishra bhai ko Pakistan ko fielding coach banao’- Fans stunned as 40-year-old Amit Mishra takes a stunning diving catch against SRH

Lucknow Super Giants is currently hosting Sunrisers Hyderabad  Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium for the 10th match of the Indian Premier League 2023. Batting first, the 2016 champions did not have the best outing as Krunal Pandya ran through their top order.

Only Rahul Tripathi, still playing a sluggish knock, could get some runs under his belt. He scored 35 runs in 41 balls and was finally dismissed by a brilliant diving catch from Amit Mishra. Yash Thakur got his wicket in the 18th over of the game.

Tripathi attempted to hit a short and slow delivery over the short third man, but the lack of pace resulted in a very shaky connection with the ball. Mishra, the fielder in the circle, shuffled to his left and completed a spectacular diving catch.

As for the rest of the game, the Orange Army could not get going after Krunal Pandya ran through their top order. He dismissed Mayank Agarwal, Anmolpreet Singh, and skipper Aiden Markram in the first spell that he bowled. The left-arm all-rounder ended with the figures of 4-0-18-3.

Amit Mishra, Yash Thakur, and Ravi Bishnoi were also among the wickets for the Lucknow Super Giants as they took two, one, and one, respectively. Meanwhile, when it looked all over for the 2016 champions, Abdul Samad played a brilliant cameo of 21 runs in 10 balls to help them set a total of 121/8 in their allotted 20 overs.

The Men in Orange lost their first match against the Sanju Samson-led Rajasthan Royals by a massive margin of 72 runs, and they might be on track to lose their second game as well. The team led by Aiden Markram will be desperate to get the points ticking in the competition.

In the meantime, fans on Twitter were elated at the 40-year-old Mishra completing the diving catch. “Better called…40 year young Amit Mishra,” a user wrote.
