Mittali Parulkar confirms marriage with Shardul Thakur; here’s all the details
Indian cricketer Shardul Thakur and his fiancée, entrepreneur Mittali Parulkar, got engaged last year and now are all set to tie the knot on 27th February next year. The news was, recently, confirmed by the bride-to-be. Shardul Thakur has played 4 Tests, 15 ODIs, and 23 T20Is for the Indian side.
“I have butterflies in my stomach,” says Parulkar, who is the founder of a baking startup. She further shares that the pre-wedding festivities will begin on February 25.
Shardul Thakur to play for Kolkata franchise
“His schedule is packed; he is playing until February 24 and will only be able to join by February 25. So, I have taken charge. We are expecting almost 200 to 250 guests at the wedding; it’s going to be too hectic,” Parulkar shares.
The wedding will take place on the outskirts of Mumbai, in Karjat in the presence of family and friends. While talking to Hindustan Times, Parulkar was on her way to check out the venue.
“Initially, we wanted to have a destination wedding in Goa, but given the logistics and so many people involved, it would have been extremely difficult,” she notes.
The bride said that the wedding will be done in Maharashtrian style with a few spins. I’m currently finalising the designers. I’m certain that I will wear a nauvari saree for the main ceremony; for the rest, we are figuring it out. We are yet to lock in the final look,” she said.
Shardul Thakur has featured in 61 matches in the Indian T20 League and has taken 67 wickets at an average of 27.87 and a strike rate of 18.81. For the 2023 edition, he will play for the Kolkata franchise as he was, earlier, traded from the Delhi franchise. Shardul has also played for the Punjab and Chennai franchises as well.
While he has scalped 14 wickets in the whites, Thakur has prized out 22 batsmen in ODI cricket. In the T20I format of the game, the 30-year-old has taken 31 scalps.
