ODI World Cup 2023: UP Govt to construct mini-stadium, open gym in Mohammed Shami’s village after his magnificent performances
India’s star cricketer Mohammed Shami has been respected for his outstanding showing in the ongoing ODI World Cup 2023. Notably, the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath has announced plans to build an open gym and a mini-stadium in Shami’s hometown of Sahaspur, Alinagar, owing to his flabbergasting performances in the ongoing event.
Notably, the right-arm pacer is the leading wicket-taker in the ODI World Cup 2023 and has played a pivotal role in guiding Team India to the final of the tournament. The star cricketer picked up seven wickets in India’s semi-finals against New Zealand on November 15 at the iconic Wankhede Cricket Stadium in Mumbai and dismantled New Zealand’s batting line-up, which helped them reach the final of the game after the 2011 ODI World Cup.
Meanwhile, the great seamer was not a part of the starting lineup in India’s first four matches owing to the presence of star all-rounder Hardik Pandya. However, the Gujarat Titans skipper sustained injuries in the ODI World Cup 2023 clash against Bangladesh at MCA in Pune, which opened the doors for Shami. Following that, the great cricketer didn’t look back and went on to play a very important role in every inning.
