‘I think that means he is in a good mental……’ – Former England captain heaps praise on India’s swashbuckling batter Virat Kohli ahead of 2nd Test match vs SA

Former English cricketer Nasser Hussain heaps praise on India’s swashbuckling batter Virat Kohli ahead of the second Test match against South Africa, which is slated to take place on January 3 at Cape Town. Notably, Team India suffered a loss in the first Test match in Centurion, and they will be looking to win the upcoming Test match to avoid the whitewash against the strong home side.

Meanwhile, the former England captain lauded the former India captain for his flabbergasting ODI World Cup 2023 performances. Notably, the stylish right-handed batter broke the record of Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar in the marquee event and went on to hammer his 50th ODI tonne in the tournament. Moreover, the 35-year-old cricketer was the leading run-scorer in the tournament and guided his side to the finals.

The legendary cricketer also talked about Virat Kohli’s innings against Sri Lanka at the Wankhede Cricket Stadium in Mumbai. In addition, the cricketer-turned-analyst feels the RCB stalwart is in a good mental space, and this is a good sign for him as well as the Indian cricket team.

I think that means Virat Kohli is in a good mental space and his game is in order: Naseer Hussain

“He had a fantastic 2023 and he had a fantastic World Cup. (For) all the records that he broke and the attention he got, actually what we didn’t focus on was how well he was batting technically,” Nasser Hussain told to Apex Cricket Council.

“I have not seen Virat bat as well as that. The sound off the bat. In the innings in Mumbai against Sri Lanka, I can name about five innings, but he was getting in such good positions. So that is a really good sign for Kohli and India and Virat Kohli fans because I think that means he is in a good mental space and his game is in order,” he added further.

Meanwhile, Virat Kohli will be seen in action against South Africa in the second Test. Notably, the top-order batter played the game tremendously well in the first Test and gained attention despite the visiting sides losing the game.
