‘Only two people?’- Suryakumar Yadav stunned as only two reporters show up for pre-match press conference ahead of Ind vs Aus series

Team India is all set to lock horns against the new ODI World Champions Australia on November 23 for their first T20I game of the five-match series. Notably, the side will be led by Mumbai Indians star Suryakumar Yadav in the absence of Rohit Sharma and Hardik Pandya. However, the middle-order batter was absolutely stunned in the pre-match conference after witnessing just two journalists.

“Only two people?” said India’s captain for the five-match T20I series, Suryakumar Yadav with a big smile before wrapping up the four-minute-long press meet on Wednesday. Notably, the incident was very unusual, as there have been a plethora of reporters and journalists who covered the match. Sometimes, the Indian Cricket Board has to stop the journalist question to give all equal opportunities, but this was not found this time.

Meanwhile, the middle-order batter also opened up about the emotions after losing the final of the ODI World Cup 2023 to Australia. The 33-year-old cricketer accepted that this was very hard for them and extremely tough to wake up again the next morning with a huge guilt. However, the stylish right-handed batter is hopeful to perform well in the new series, featuring young and fresh talent.

Can’t be that you get up next morning, and forget everything that happened: Suryakumar Yadav

“Every member, not only the players, all of India were very proud of the way we displayed our talent on the ground. That was the positive, the brand of cricket that we played throughout the tournament. And we are really proud of that,” Suryakumar Yadav said in the pre-match conference.

“It is difficult. Can’t be that you get up next morning, and forget everything that happened. It was a long tournament. Obviously, we would have loved to win. But you got to look at the light at the end of the tunnel. You have to forget, and move on. It is a fresh team, with new boys and new energy. So, we are looking forward to this series,” he added further.
