WATCH: New Zealand rising star Rachin Ravindra visits his grandparents’ home in Bangalore, seeks blessings for glory in ODI World Cup 2023

The New Zealand cricket team has thrashed Sri Lanka by five wickets to almost book their spot in the semi-finals of the ODI World Cup 2023. Notably, the Kusal Mendis-led Sri Lankan side posted a narrow score of 171 runs before getting all out. However, during the chase, the Black Caps easily chased down the target in just 23.2 overs to stay alive in the ongoing marquee event.

However, New Zealand star batsman Rachin Ravindra, who scored crucial 42 runs from 34 balls, featuring three boundaries and three sixes in their must-win encounter, has visited his grandparent’s home in Bangalore after winning at the M. Chinnaswamy Cricket Stadium. Notably, a wonderful and heartwarming video of the 23-year-old cricketer with his grandmother has gone viral.

Notably, in the video, the top-order batter’s grandmother is performing the rituals to keep his grandson free from negativity. The video clip has been widely shared on social media with some great comments. In addition, the fans are extremely ecstatic to see that Rachin Ravindra has been sticking with his Indian roots.

I’m lucky to have come here through my teenage years and experienced the practice wickets: Rachin Ravindra

Meanwhile, Rachin Ravindra was extremely ecstatic to deliver the magnificent performance in Bangalore. The left-handed batsman has opened up about his childhood practice in the Bengaluru stadium. Moreover, the southpaw expressed his happiness for almost sealing their place in the play-offs.

“It’s a pretty surreal feeling. Playing in Bangalore with my extended family is always special and I won’t take for granted when the crowd chants your name. Luckily it all worked out. 6 to 12 months ago I was not in the frame. Accolades and individual things aside, good to be in the playoffs. I’m lucky to have come here through my teenage years, and experience the practice wickets – helps me a lot. Nice wicket and fast outfields, try to adapt as best I can. Talk to Devon, talk to Kane who has played in the IPL, get golden nuggets from them whenever I can,” Rachin Ravindra said.
