‘Don’t surprised if another hundred is around corner’ – Ravi Shastri’s big claim about Virat Kohli ahead of ODI World Cup 2023 final vs Australia
The unbeaten hosts will be facing the five-time world champions, Australia, on November 19 at the iconic Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium in Ahmedabad. Notably, Team India has been giving some sensational batting and bowling performances, which makes them hot favourites to win another ODI World Cup in their next clash. However, former India cricketer Ravi Shastri backs India’s chase master Virat Kohli to smash another big run for hosts in the crucial shop-down event.
The well-renowed cricket commentator feels India’s stalwart Virat Kohli is writing his own script owing to his magnificent form in the ODI World Cup 2023. Moreover, the legendary cricketer feels the 35-year-old cricketer may smash another century in India’s next clash, as he did in the semi-final.
“Kohli is writing his own script, the kind of form he is in. Do not be surprised if another hundred is around the corner. He did it in the semifinals and he might as well do it in the final. There is nothing bigger than that,” Ravi Shastri said.
I think that the first 10 overs are very crucial: Ravi Shastri
However, the former batting legend feels the Men in Blue just need a great start to have a big blast in the game. Ravi Shastri also talks about some Australian players who can be dangerous for Team India in the final showdown. Moreover, the former India head coach heaps praise on India’s pace attack, calling them the best team India has ever produced.
“I think that the first 10 overs are very crucial. India have got some great starts, especially with the way Rohit has exploded at the top. That makes a difference. Similarly with Australia, if they take off, that will give them a lot of confidence. David Warner, Travis Head and Mitchell Marsh are dangerous players. This is the best fast-bowling attack India have ever had in white-ball cricket. There are three terrific fast bowlers (Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami and Mohammed Siraj) and then there are quality spinners in Ravindra Jadeja and Kuldeep Yadav,” he added further.
