‘It can lift the spirits of the players……’ – Ravi Shastri on PM Modi’s dressing room visit after ODI World Cup 2023 final loss

Team India lost the ODI World Cup 2023 final against Australia on November 19 at the iconic Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium in Ahmedabad. However, following the loss, PM Modi was seen encouraging and bolstering the Indian players in the dressing room. PM Modi’s act has been praised by many former cricketers and pundits. Notably, former India cricketer Ravi Shastri is one of them who recently opened up about the great act.

The former India coach believes the act of PM Modi was pretty outstanding, as he knows the emotions it feels after the loss as a former coach of Team India. In addition, the well-renowned cricket commentator affirms that PM Modi’s visit to the dressing room was a massive contribution, which could help in lifting up the spirit of the players for the team and boost up the players morale, which was totally crushed.

“I think it’s an outstanding thing simply because I know what a dressing room feels like and I have been in that dressing room for more than seven years as a coach of India apart from many years as a cricketer. It is a gut-wrenching feeling and when you are down, it feels like you are out. When you get someone like the Prime Minister of the country coming and visiting the dressing room, it is something massive because it can lift the spirits of the players,” Ravi Shastri told ANI.
