WATCH: India’s star batter Rinku Singh apologizes for glass-breaking six in 2nd T20I vs South Africa

India’s star cricketer, Rinku Singh, was absolutely in a devastating mood, having smashed his first half century for India in international cricket on December 12 during the second T20I against South Africa. Notably, for the past few weeks, the middle-order batter has been pushing towards his first landmark for India, and he finally achieved his first-ever half-century in seven innings, which came at a crucial moment for the Indian side.

However, the left-handed batter will be looking to continue the same momentum to get a place in the upcoming T20 World Cup in 2024. Notably, Team India was in a difficult situation after losing crucial wickets in the game. The 26-year-old cricketer hammered 68 runs from 39 balls, featuring nine boundaries and two sixes with a solid strike rate of 175, to help India reach near 180.

However, Rinku hit a massive over long-on and then smashed a straight one, like a shot, not letting Aiden Markram get through his over. The media box glass broke after the second one, which happened on the last ball of the 19th over. The fans were totally shocked to witness such a strong six from Rinku Singh.

I didn’t know my hit broke the glass, Sorry for that: Rinku Singh

Following the same, the Uttar Pradesh-born cricketer went on to apologies the media after breaking six in the game. In addition, the southpaw also revealed his talks with India’s stand-in skipper, Suryakumar Yadav, to take the innings deep after they lost three wickets early in the game “I didn’t know my hit broke the glass. Sorry for that,” Rinku Singh said in the video shared by Indian Cricket Board.
