Rinku Singh’s priceless interaction with Yash Dayal on Instagram goes viral after former smashes 5 sixes in a row to win the match for KKR in IPL 2023

The Indian Premier League’s 13th match of the 16th edition on Sunday in Ahmedabad saw Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) take on Gujarat Titans (GT) at the iconic Narendra Modi Stadium, in Ahmedabad on Sunday, April 9. GT was without their skipper Hardik Pandya as he was unwell and Rashid Khan took over as the captain of the side.

Rinku Singh took the game close as the team needed 29 runs in six balls. He hit five sixes off the last five balls to take his side to a win from almost a losing position. Kolkata won their second straight game of the tournament and what a win this was. Yash Dayal, who gave away 31 runs in the last over, spoke with Rinku in a less well-known conversation before KKR’s away game against GT in Ahmedabad.

“Memorable victory. Special mention to all our wonderful fans for turning up in huge numbers and having our back,” Rinku wrote in his post which he shared after the Kolkata franchise defeated the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) side at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. “Big player bhai (brother),” Dayal had left a note on Rinku’s post. After Kolkata’s incredible IPL victory against Gujarat, Rinku and Dayal’s brief Instagram chat caught the attention of social media users.

Had the belief that I can do it: Rinku Singh

The former champions KKR have also addressed Dayal, who let up 69 runs in his four overs, at a time when Rinku’s heroics at the plate were the talk of the town. Dayal received encouragement from KKR in the form of a moving post, as the team supported the GT star to recover from a forgettable day.

“Chin up, lad. Just a hard day at the office, happens to the best of players in cricket. You’re a champion, Yash, and you’re gonna come back strong,” KKR said in their heartfelt message for the GT speedster.

“Had the belief that I can do it. Last year I was in a similar situation in Lucknow. Had the belief back then too. Didn’t think too much out there. Those shots just happened one after the other. That last one was back of the hand, and I struck it off the back foot,” KKR all-rounder asserted on the post-match interview.
