According to what Pant said, he dozed off while driving and as a result, the car collided with the divider and caught fire. Earlier, the Delhi franchise skipper was dropped from both the ODI and T20I series which is scheduled to be played against Sri Lanka in January 2023. Whether Pant was injured, rested, or dropped was not made clear in the Indian Cricket Board press release. Because the board wanted to give the 25-year-old a break before the two-match Test series, as he was not selected to play in the one-day internationals against Bangladesh. His most recent performance was a match-winning 93-run innings in India’s 2-0 series victory against Bangladesh in the second Test at Mirpur.
