According to sources, a robbery case involving cash and jewels was reported from former India cricketer Yuvraj Singh’s MDC Sector 4, Panchkula apartment, on February 17. Notably, the incident, including the missing of many jewellery pieces and Rs 75,000 in cash, has left the household staff members working there the target of concern.
However, the mother of Yuvraj Singh disclosed that Lalita Devi, who is a housekeeper from Saketdi, and Sildar Pal, a chef from Bihar, were being investigated. She recalled that since September 2023, she had been living at their second home in Gurgaon. However, when she returned to the MDC residence on October 5, 2023, where she found that jewellery which is estimated to be worth Rs 75,000 and other items from a cupboard in a room on the first floor were missing.
Furthermore, the star all-rounder’s mother has tried looking into the circumstances herself, but she didn’t find any leads. However, it was reported that Lalita Devi and Sildar Pal had abruptly walked away from their jobs and left during Diwali.
Notably, the police have notified Yuvraj Singh’s mother, Shabnam Singh, who expressed her concerns about the two former employees. In addition, the case has been formally registered by the police, who have also started an additional inquiry. Police have shown support to Yuvraj Singh’s family after the incident
SHO Dharampal Singh of Mansa Devi mirrored this sentiment and restrained herself from interacting with the media after first answering questions from the press. Moreover, he highlighted the challenge of providing information to the media while seeking to solve the case when he faced questions directly at the police station.
“If we disclose everything to the media, how will we manage to apprehend the thieves?” Dharampal Singh said.
Meanwhile, just a few days ago, former India skipper Sourav Ganguly was accused of home theft as well. The former Indian Cricket Board President reported the incident to the Thakurpukur police station on Saturday, February 11, bringing it to their attention. Moreover, the former batting legend urged the authorities to take action to avoid any misuse of the phone’s personal information and voiced concern that it contained it in his statement.
