Team India’s captain, Rohit Sharma, has recently opened up about his leadership skills, which make them a great team. Notably, Team India is currently playing the five matches of the Test Series against England, where the visiting sides won the first Test game. However, the Men in Blue made their comeback in the second Test match to help India level up the series 1-1.
However, Rohit Sharma believes that it is crucial for him to build the confidence in his players to perform well in the series. The 36-year-old skipper feels every contribution is important for the team’s success, irrespective of the top-order batter or the lower-order batter. In addition, the stylish right-handed batter feels that building trust and confidence in the players is the key. Moreover, the Mumbai Indians star revealed that he always tried to understand the players concerns, especially in challenging situations.
“As a leader, it’s crucial to instill confidence in players and make them feel valued regardless of their role in the team. Each player’s contribution is essential to the team’s success, whether they play ten balls at No. 6 or 7. I make it a point to interact with players individually, understand their concerns, and provide reassurance. Building trust and confidence is paramount, especially in challenging situations,” Rohit Sharma said at a promotional event in Mumbai.

Meanwhile, India’s captain Rohit Sharma also talks about how he aims to give a great start in the innings to set the tone for Team India. The Maharashtra-born cricketer has shown his great form in the ODI World Cup 2023, where he gave the best start to Team India and played a pivotal role in guiding India towards the final of the tournament, and he is expected to repeat the role in the ongoing Test series against England as well as in the T20 World Cup 2024.
