‘You destroyed us, demoralized us, and decimated us’ – Shoaib Akhtar slams Pakistan for humiliating and embarrassing loss over India in ODI World Cup 2023

The Pakistan team lost their third ODI World Cup 2023 game against Team India on October 14 at the iconic Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium. Notably, the Pakistani team again produced poor performances with bat and ball, which helped Team India get the win against their traditional rivals, Pakistan. However, former Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Akhtar had lashed out at Babar Azam and Co. for the embarrassing and humiliating loss against the hosts.

The legendary pacer heaps praise on India’s skipper, Rohit Sharma, for his scintillating knock against the Men in Green during the play. In addition, the former fast bowler calls the 36-year-old skipper the big player who took on and hit some magnificent shots in the play. The 48-year-old cricketer was ecstatic to see Rohit Sharma back in form.

“Disappointing performance, a very disappointing performance. India completely hammered Pakistan. Rohit Sharma was a one-man army…He is a very big player and has a wide range of shots. He is a complete batter, a complete team (man)…Good to see you back, Rohit Sharma,” Shoaib Akhtar said on his YouTube channel.

India is really there to win this World Cup: Shoaib Akhtar

The Rawalpindi-born cricketer feels India beats Pakistani teams like kids. However, the great seamer feels that India can repeat the history of the 2011 ODI World Cup in the marquee event if they don’t get a loss in the semi-finals. The former right-arm pacer feels Rohit Sharma and Co. are ready to win the marquee event after destroying and decimating the Pakistan team.

“Pakistan’s humiliation is in front of us. India ne bachon ki tarah maara (India beat Pakistan like kids). I couldn’t watch it. I am beginning to believe India is about to repeat that history of the 2011 World Cup. If they don’t mess up in the semi-finals, India is really there to win this World Cup. So well done, India. You have done wonderfully well. You destroyed us, demoralized us, and decimated us,” he added further.
