Shubman Gill, Ishan Kishan and Yuzvendra Chahal’s ‘Roadies’ recreation takes Internet by storm

Indian Cricketers not only keep their fans entertained on the pitch but also do their best off the pitch. After wrapping up a series win against New Zealand with a dominant victory in the third T20I on Wednesday, India’s star with the bat, Shubman Gill, took to Instagram to drop something hilarious for his fans.

On Thursday, Gill dropped a reel starring his teammates, Yuzvendra Chahal and Ishan Kishan, where the three were seen recreating a famous scene from the youth reality show, ‘MTV Roadies’. This particular scene is from a famous Roadies audition.

Here’s the video:

Ishan Kishan remained the star of the reel

In the reel, the three Indian cricketers appeared in their Team India jerseys, with Gill playing the role of a contestant, harshly critiqued by the two judges. Ishan Kishan remained the undisputed star of the video playing the role of Roadies judge Nikhil Chinapa. The part of his co-judge, Raghu Ram, was played by Yuzvendra Chahal, who delivered the infamous line, ‘Now you have really pissed me off!” with immaculate comedic timing.

The reel starts with Ishan getting up from his chair and asking Gill to demonstrate intensity and passion, to which the 23-year-old replies emotionally, “I have that intensity. I have that passion. I will make it, I will definitely make it.” Kishan then mimics a Gorilla in response and leaps over Gill onto the bed, a scene that has earned fans’ praises.

Kishan then asks Gill to slap himself, and the latest T20 centurion complies. Kishan launches a sharp slap onto Gill’s face and demands that he repeat the slap at that intensity. The scene ends here with the duo walking away with Kishan remarking, ‘better’.

Interestingly, all three involved players were part of the recently-concluded T20I series against New Zealand that India clinched on Wednesday night. Gill and Kishan will stay with the Indian team for the upcoming test series against Australia, with Kishan getting his maiden call-up to red-ball cricket for India in the absence of wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant.
