South Africa batter David Miller picks who plays a better cover-drive between Babar Azam and Virat Kohli’
The former India skipper, Virat Kohli is regarded as one of the best batters in cricket history. He has consistently shut his haters with brilliant outings for both club and country. During the second Test match between India and Australia in New Delhi, the 34-year-old created history by breaking Sachin Tendulkar’s previous global record by scoring 25,000 runs in international cricket.
The Bangalore franchise batter achieved the record in 549 innings as compared to Sachin’s 577 innings. Although his batting performance in both Test matches was below par, he will be hoping to gain some momentum in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy’s final two matches.
Pakistan skipper, Babar Azam is regarded as being on par with Indian batter Kohli in terms of ability, and he also completed 2022 as the top run-scorer in international cricket across all formats. In 44 matches, the 28-year-old scored 2598 runs, including eight hundred, 17 half-centuries, and a best score of 196. With 171 runs in four games, while competing for Peshawar Zalmi in the PSL, Babar is third on the run-getters list.
I would go with Bumrah’s yorkers: David Miller
The debate about who is best between Kohli and Babar has gone intense and fans and cricket experts have given their thoughts on who is best for them. Hence, when asked to select between the two, even South African veteran batter David Miller responded with confidence. Miller was given the choice of Kohli’s cover-drive or Babar’s and asked who plays it better.
“Probaby, I would go with Babar”, Miller was quouoted as saying on ESPNCricinfo. Miller was also asked to select between Shaheen Shah Afridi’s yorker and that of Jasprit Bumrah. “I would go with Bumrah’s yorkers,” he added. Miller is presently playing in the PSL with the Multan Sultans, who have eight points after five games and are currently in first place.
Babar was traded by Karachi Kings to Peshawar Zalmi prior to the PSL 2023 season. The Pakistan all-format skipper played for four years with the Karachi franchise in the league. Also, there were rumours that Babar and Imad Wasim’s relationship was unhealthy.
