‘Go back’ – Former India cricketer gives befitting answer to Micky Arthur’s baseless remarks after Pakistan’s defeat to India

The Pakistan cricket team currently places itself in the fifth spot after registering back-to-back wins against the Netherlands and Sri Lanka in the ODI World Cup 2023. They suffered straight two losses over traditional rivals India and five-time world champions Australia in the ongoing marquee event. However, former India cricketer Sreesanth took an indirect jibe at Pakistan’s team director Mickey Arthur over his baseless remarks on October 14.

After losing to India on October 14 at the iconic Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium in Ahmedabad, Pakistan’s team director, Mickey Arthur, claimed that he didn’t feel this was a major tournament owing to the partial crowd. The former South African batsman further alleged that he felt it was a bilateral series against arch-rival India. Mickey Arthur further said that their song wasn’t played in the stadium while all songs were played to support Indians only.

“Look, I’d be lying if I said that It didn’t seem like a major event, tonight, to be brutally honest. It seemed like a bilateral series; it seemed like an Indian event. I didn’t hear Dil Dil Pakistan coming through the microphones too often tonight,” Mickey Arthur said.

Don’t come to India if you can’t handle the pressure: Sreesanth

Meanwhile, cricketer-tuned commentator Sreesanth takes a dig at Arthur and convinces them to go back to their own country, Pakistan. The 40-year-old cricketer clarified that the Men in Green will get praise if they do well, and if they perform poorly, then they will be criticized in the host nation, India. Moreover, the former bowler says that as a team, one should be prepared for both praise and criticism. The former right-arm pacer lashed out at Arthur and told him not to come to India even if he couldn’t handle pressure.

“See, you will get praise from the crowd if you do well and if you do poorly, you will get criticized. As a team, you need to be ready for both. Mahi bhai always has said to focus on process because the pressure will always be there. Don’t come to India if you can’t handle the pressure. Go back. As it is you’re playing that way,” Sreesanth said.
