‘SRH jeeta nahi DC haara hai ye match’ – Twitter mocks DC as they come from winning position to lose by 9 runs against SRH in IPL 2023 encounter

In the 40th match of the IPL 2023, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) took on Delhi Capitals (DC) at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. SRH won the toss and elected to bat first. Abhishek Sharma opened the innings and played an impressive knock of 67 runs off 36 balls with 12 fours and a six. He was well supported by Heinrich Klaasen who scored 53 runs off 27 balls with two fours and four sixes.

Abdul Samad also chipped in with a handy knock of 28 runs off 21 balls. However, the star of the show for DC was Mitchell Marsh, who picked up four wickets in his four overs, including the important wicket of Abhishek Sharma. SRH finished their innings with a strong total of 197/6 in their 20 overs.

In reply, DC got off to a disastrous start as their captain David Warner was dismissed for a duck in the second over of the innings. However, Phil Salt and Mitchell Marsh came together and started building a strong partnership. They were hitting the ball well and were keeping up with the required run rate. Salt played a great innings of 59 runs off 35 balls, while Marsh scored 63 runs off 39 balls.

However, two quick wickets turned the game around for SRH, and DC lost their way in the middle overs. Axar Patel tried to keep the run chase alive with his quick-fire knock of 29 runs off just 14 balls, but it was too little too late for DC.

In the end, SRH won the match by 9 runs. It was a great all-round performance from SRH, with the top order firing with the bat and their bowlers doing a great job in the middle overs. DC will be disappointed with their performance, especially after the great start provided by Salt and Marsh. SRH will take confidence from this win and will look to carry this momentum forward in the tournament.

Here’s how Twitter reacted to SRH’s win against DC:
