‘Wow they got the big one’ – Fans react as SRH pick Travis Head for Rs 6.8 Cr in IPL 2024 Auction

Travis Head was bought for a price of INR 6.8 crores in the auction by SRH. Notably, the owner of SRH, Kavya Maran, seemed to be highly interested in the Australian batter as her grand bid for the player explained. Before the final call, there was some ambiguity, as no franchise seemed to raise their barrel for the star batter. Many introspected if the franchises were even interested in the star performer.

Soon after that, SRH finally raised their barrel. Notably, Kavya showed up and raised Head’s value in the auction. However, CSK joined the battle and challenged SRH literally a run for their money. Meanwhile, it was an intense battle between the two to get Head. However, SRH seemed to be in dire need of the star batter. But, CSK did not seem to give up on him easily. Notably, there was some good attempt from CSK to try and get the star batter on their team.

SRH finally decided to spend INR 6.8 crores on Head. However, CSK finally called it off, as they did not see the necessity to go behind him anymore. Meanwhile, Kavya Maran had a smile on her face, as they secured a very good performer, who happens to be in good form currently. Head will now play for the orange army during the 2024 IPL season.

Travis Head was the star performer in WTC Final and ODI World Cup 2023

Travis Head was brilliant as a batter in the recently concluded ODI WC 2023. In addition, Travis Head was only the third cricketer to win the POTM award in both the semifinal and the final of a single edition of the biggest cricket tournament. The left-handed batter scored a fifty and a hundred in the semifinal and the final respectively.

Even in T20Is, Travis Head was very good. In the big matches against India, Travis Head played some good cameos. SRH brought some other players in the auction as well. They got Wanindu Hasaranga at a base price of INR 1.5 crores. They got the big fish, Pat Cummins, for a record price of INR 20.5 crores, which is the record in the IPL auction.
