‘It’s a shame for the series that….’ – Former English star breaks silence on Virat Kohli missing India vs England 2024 Test series

Former England cricketer Stuart Broad has recently shared his emotions about India’s batting master Virat Kohli missing the ongoing India vs. England 2024 Test series. Notably, the former India skipper has pulled out of the first two Tests, citing personal reasons. However, the Indian Cricket Board has revealed that the 35-year-old cricketer was unavailable for selection for the rest of the three matches without sharing much information about the star batter.

However, Stuart Broad reveals that it’s a shame for the series, as he’s the biggest name missing in the whole series. The former right-arm pacer says he accepts that personal matters do matter at such a time, but Virat Kohli’s presence in the Test series would be much appreciated owing to his passion for the field and the hunger he has for the game. In addition, the 37-year-old cricketer feels Virat Kohli’s absence is a great opportunity for the young to showcase their talent and hunt.

“It’s a shame for the series that he will be missing but India have won the last Test. Kohli is such a quality player, his passion, his fire, but obviously personal matters always take precedence. But it gives a great opportunity to young players also. So someone in the Indian batting line-up will stand up at some stage,” Stuart Broad told IANS.

I think ‘Bazball’ has proven that it can work in every country: Stuart Broad

Stuart Broad reveals that Bazball can work in every country, as England was able to win the first Test match despite India taking up the great lead in the first innings. Moreover, the great seamer also talks about England winning over Pakistan by 3-0, their Test series against New Zealand, and how Bazball played a crucial role in the series.

“I love it. The series is one-all (1-1) at the moment, but I think ‘Bazball’ has proven that it can work in every country. I think Hyderabad’s performance is the most impressive performance of the England team. We won in Pakistan 3-0, we played well in New Zealand. So ‘Bazball’ is a mentality that is driving the game forward,” he added further.
