‘They took the game away from us….’ – Suryakumar Yadav heaps praise on South Africa after their win over India in 2nd T20I

India’s stand-in skipper, Suryakumar Yadav, heaps praise on South Africa for their great win over the visiting sides during the second T20I game. Notably, the Proteas defeated the Men in Blue by five wickets, and they are just one win away from clinching the series. On the other hand, Team India lost the chance of sealing the series, and a win in the next game will level up the series.

Speaking about the game here, Team India was able to post 180/7 in the 19.3 overs as rain halted the play. Notably, both openers departed for the duck; however, it was Tilak Varma and Suryakumar Yadav who stitched the great stand and helped India post the respectable score. In addition, star batter Rinku Singh played a very crucial role as he smashed 68 runs from just 39 balls. However, South Africa chased down the total with seven balls to spare.

India’s skipper, Suryakumar Yadav, feels South Africa have battered brilliantly in the first few overs, which helped them win the game. However, the middle-order batter feels it was a great learning experience for them, and he is looking forward to the final and last T20I, which is scheduled to take place on December 14.

I thought it was a par score but they batted beautifully in the first 5-6 overs: Suryakumar Yadav

“At the halfway stage, I thought it was a par score but they batted beautifully in the first 5-6 overs and took the game away from us. It was the brand of cricket we were talking about, just go out and express ourselves. It was tough with the wet ball, but we would face similar situations in the future and it’s a good learning for us. Looking forward to the third T20I,” Suryakumar Yadav said in the post-match presentation.
