‘Toofan macha rahe hai’ – Fans react as India continues supreme run in ODI World Cup 2023 after defeating New Zealand by 4 wickets

Team India won their fifth straight game of the ODI World Cup 2023 after defeating New Zealand by four wickets on October 22 at the HPCA in Dharamshala. Notably, the Men in Blue have registered their fifth win in the ODI World Cup 2023 and currently remain undefeated in the marquee event. Speaking about the match, it was India’s skipper Rohit Sharma who won the toss and invited New Zealand to bat first in the game.

Notably, after being sent to bat first, the visitors had an awful start as their openers, Devon Conway and Will Youngs, departed quickly. However, star middle-order batsmen Rachin Ravindra and Daryll Mitchell changed the momentum of the game as Rachin Ravindra piled up 75 runs from 87 balls, including six boundaries and a six. In addition, Daryll Mitchell struck out a magnificent century as he smashed 130 runs from 127 balls, hitting nine boundaries and five sixes that boosted their middle order in the game.

Following them, no other batsmen could get runs on the board, and the Kiwis were restricted to just 273 runs in the given 50 overs. However, the Men in Blue had a solid start to their innings. India skipper Rohit Sharma took the onus and hammered 46 runs, securing a partnership with Shubman Gill, who also got 26 runs. Following their dismissal, India’s stalwart Virat Kohli scored 95 runs, which helped the hosts team chase down the total.
