WATCH: Rohit Sharma-led Team India arrives in Mumbai for ODI World Cup 2023 vs Sri Lanka

Rohit Sharma and Co. had arrived in Mumbai for their seventh clash of the ODI World Cup 2023 against Sri Lanka, which is slated to take place on November 2 at Wankhede Stadium. Notably, Team India beat England by 100 runs in their recent clash of the ODI World Cup 2023 on Sunday, October 29, at Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow.

The Men in Blue have been in the top spot after their back-to-back wins in the tournament. Rohit Sharma and Co. are currently undefeated in the tournament so far, with six out of six wins. However, the hosts will be aiming to get their seventh straight win to continue placing themselves in the top spot.

Meanwhile, both teams, India and Sri Lanka, last faced twice in the Asia Cup 2023. Rohit Sharma and Co. thrashed the hosts by a narrow margin during the Super Fours of the Asia Cup 2023. Moreover, Team India completely dominated Dasun Shanaka-led side in the final to win the eighth title of the Continental Cup.

Losing three wickets isn’t the ideal situation: Rohit Sharma

Team India’s skipper, Rohit Sharma, was disappointed despite India’s great win over defending champions England, as his side failed to bat on touch pitch. In addition, the 36-year-old skipper was furious, as his side’s batting was not ideal and losing three wickets in the powerplay wasn’t a great start for them.

“Looking at how the tournament has gone for us, batting second in the first five games, we had to come and bat here. For us to get to a total on a pitch that had something in it, we just wanted to get to a total where we could play with it. We were not great with the bat today. Losing three wickets isn’t the ideal situation. When you are in a situation like that, all you are looking to do is create that long partnership, which we got,” Rohit Sharma said after India’s win over England.
