‘Teri himmat kaise hui hamare Vadapav ko troll karne ki’ – Fans react as Haris Rauf recalls the moment he dismissed Rohit Sharma in 20-20 WC 2022

Pakistan’s star fast bowler Haris Rauf produced a breathtaking performance in the 20-20 World Cup which was played last year in Australia. His performance was pretty exceptional against India as he was the one who dismissed India’s star batters, Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav. He also named those 2 wickets as the special ones.

However, the wicket of Indian captain Rohit was his wish and he was very pleased to fulfill that wish in the World Cup. During an interview with Crickwick, Rauf revealed why he desperately wanted to dismiss Rohit, he said that during Pakistan’s national anthem, Rohit’s body language was not good. Reacting to his statement, many fans have trolled him on social media.

“When I saw Rohit Sharma during our national anthem, I said to myself I have to get his wicket,” he said.

I started earning match fees for the tape ball matches: Haris Rauf

During the interview, he also recalled how he became a professional cricketer from a tape-ball cricketer. While narrating the struggling phase of his life, Rauf revealed that he used to get Rs. 10 or 15k per over from which he used to fulfill his basic needs. He also revealed that he didn’t think of becoming a cricketer but his friend forced him to give trials and then he realised that he bowls fast.

“Gradually started playing cricket, then I started earning match fees for the tape ball matches that used to play. I used to charge per over. People used to pay me 10 to fifteen thousand per over. And that is how I used to make ends meet. I used to send some home, paying my university fees and save some as well.

I never really thought of it, I had a friend who brought me along with him to trials. He was the one who wanted to give trials and at that time I didn’t have spikes. I borrowed spikes from someone and then I bowled in the trials. There I realised how fast I bowl.” he said.
