‘That was a painful 30 seconds’ – Fans in splits as Ravindra Jadeja and Sanjay Manjrekar get introduced to Nagpur Test at the same time

Former India batter Sanjay Manjrekar greeted the star India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja, who made his comeback in the Indian team after a long gap of 5 months, in the first Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy at Nagpur. Jadeja and Manjrekar both were the first change in the bowling and commentary respectively and the latter, acknowleged that in the commentary section.

The former Indian cricketer called the 34-year-old a ‘bits and pieces player’ during the 2019 50-over World Cup in England and Wales. At that time, the all-rounder replied to him back strongly.

The Chennai franchise all-rounder grabbed 25 wickets when Australia last played a series in India back in 2016-17. It will be his fifth consecutive home series against the Kangaroos.

The Gujarat-born player snapped a total of 63 wickets in just 12 Tests he has played so far against Australia. The Saurashtra spinner recently picked wickets against Tamil Nadu in the ongoing Ranji Trophy season.

India is off to a good start with help of Ravindra Jadeja

The new left-arm spinner made his comeback after a long gap of 5 months after getting recovered from any injury. Cricketer was delighted to be back in the team after a long gap.

“I was eagerly waiting to make a comeback and play for India. I had been struggling with my knee for some time, so surgery was needed. I am very excited and feel good that after more than 5 months I am in the Indian jersey. I am lucky to have got the chance back. There were many ups and downs in the journey because it is not easy if you stay away from cricket for 5 months,” the Indian left-arm orthodox spinner stated.

Earlier, Australian skipper Pat Cummins won the toss and elected to bat first. Team India got to a magnificent start as they picked two quick wickets of openers Usman Khwaja and David Warner when the team’s score was two runs.

Both batters were sent back to the pavilion when they were at the score of one run each. Khwaja was dismissed by Mohammad Siraj and Warner was dismissed by Mohammad Shami. Jadeja picked three important wickets of Steve Smith, Marnus Labuschange, and Matt Renshaw.
