India’s star cricketer, Virat Kohli, was named the most popular sportsperson in India in November 2023. Notably, Team India was playing in the ODI World Cup 2023 tournament in November, where Virat Kohli played an important role in guiding India towards the final of the tournament. However, Rohit Sharma and Co. suffered a six-wicket loss against Australia on November 19 at the iconic Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium in Ahmedabad.

According to Ormax Media Reports, Virat Kohli is in the top spot for popular sportspersons, while MS Dhoni and Rohit Sharma stand in second and third positions on the list. However, MS Dhoni is expected to be seen in action during the IPL 2024, which is slated to commence in May and June next year. Meanwhile, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma will be in action in the two matches of the Test series slated to commence on December 26 in Centurion.

However, Virat Kohli was seen expressing his love for Test cricket ahead of the game. The former India skipper reveals that he had a different feeling while playing in the Test game. In addition, the 35-year-old cricketer reveals that the red ball is the foundation of cricket for him.

“Test cricket for me is the foundation of the game. It’s everything. You come out on the other side after four-five days, it’s a different feeling from anything else that you’ve experienced. I am a traditionalist so playing in whites, playing Test cricket is everything. Really honoured to play more than 100 Tests for the country and pursue my dream of becoming a Test cricketer,” Virat Kohli said on Star Sports.
