Virat Kohli and Dean Elgar have enjoyed some heated battles over the last few years. On Thursday the two veteran players were seen catching up as the South African skipper was playing his final game. The former Indian skipper was seen giving Elgar a signed jersey after the game ended in Cape Town.

Team India won the Test Match in a record time to make this the quickest Test ever played. Rohit Sharma and his side won the game by 7 wickets as the series ended 1-1. Jasprit Bumrah and Elgar were declared joint player of the series.

It was a dominating performance from Team India as they became the first side from Asia to win in Cape Town. Indian seamers bowled their hearts out as Mohammed Siraj and Jasprit Bumrah picked 6-wickets in each innings.

A fond farewell for Dean Elgar in Cape Town –

Just as Shreyas Iyer hit the winning runs and Rohit Sharma let out a roar the focus turned to Dean Elgar. It was an emotional moment as the 36-year-old played his final day as an international cricketer for South Africa.

As the post-game formalities were done, one could spot Virat Kohli giving the signed Indian jersey to Dean Elgar. The two were seen chatting and proceeded to part ways with a hug as the cameras caught the interaction.

It is to be noted that both Virat Kohli and Dean Elgar have shared a huge rivalry on the field since the Under-19 Days. After Mukesh Kumar dismissed the veteran skipper Virat Kohli was seen bowing down to the departing batter.

It was a historic day for the Indian Cricket Team as they beat South Africa by seven wickets. The match saw a total of 107 overs being bowled as India achieved the target in 12 overs.

Rohit Sharma was not out on 17 when the winning runs were hit as the series was levelled at 1-1. The 36-year-old just became the second-ever skipper to draw a series in South Africa after MS Dhoni in 2011.

The next assignment for Team India is the three-match T20I series against Afghanistan which begins on the 11th of January. It is believed that Rohit Sharma will be the skipper of the team with Hardik Pandya not yet fit. After the Afghanistan series, the focus will shift to the five-match Test series against England starting in three weeks.
