WATCH: Dinesh Karthik rightly predicts Umesh Yadav hitting six off Nathan Lyon, video goes viral
Star India wicketkeeper-batter Dinesh Karthik gained the nickname “Nostradamus” as he predicated Umesh Yadav’s next move on the live broadcast during the third Test match between India and Australia at Indore. The speedster made a brief appearance with the bat on the day Australia demolished India’s elite batting lineup. On Day 1 of the third Test at the Holkar Cricket Stadium, tailender Umesh and spinner Nathan Lyon engaged in a titanic battle.
Karthik anticipated that Umesh would use the aerial route to hit a six off Lyon during his small but entertaining time at the crease.
“I think he’s going to go for a six,” Karthik told his co-commentator during the 3rd Test at Indore. Before the delivery, Karthik made a joke about it being either six or out. Umesh hit a six off Lyon to end the 30th over in spectacular fashion, proving Karthik’s prediction to be accurate.
India bounce back on Day 2
Umesh at the time used a slog-sweep to clear the mid-wicket boundary. India managed to reach 106-8 in 31 overs when the lower-order batter hammered another six off Todd Murphy in the next over. Karthik posted the beautiful moment’s video to Twitter. Karthik tweeted, “I enjoyed this moment… Hahah #prediction.” The game’s social media fans and followers took to Karthik’s post right away.
