Watch: MS Dhoni responds when fans ask him about his knee

Despite retiring from international cricket nearly three years ago, former Indian skipper MS Dhoni is one of the most loved cricketers in India. However, he still continues to play professionally as he is a part of Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the Indian Premier League (IPL). He recently led CSK to their fifth title in IPL 2023. It is not yet confirmed whether Dhoni will be seen playing in the next season of IPL or not. However, he himself cleared that he would like to come back for one more season if his body allows.

“The easy thing would be for me to say ‘Thank you very much’, but the tough thing for me is to work hard for another 9 months and come back and play at least 1 more season of IPL. A lot depends on the body, I have 6-7 months to decide. It will be more like a gift from my side, it’s not easy for me but that’s a gift,” said Dhoni after winning the IPL 2023 final.

It is noted that he suffered a knee injury during the season, due to which he underwent stalwart knee surgery as soon as the season ended. After that, there have been a lot of questions about his fitness during the cash-rich tournament. However, his surgery was successful and he recently celebrated his 42nd birthday a couple of days ago.

Dhoni responds with a smile

Early on Monday, Dhoni was seen at the Chennai Airport along with his wife Sakshi as they both arrived in the city. As soon as Dhoni made his exit from the Airport, a fan showed his concern about his knee. Looking at Dhoni, the fan asked, “Mahi bhai, how is your knee.” Dhoni responded to him with a smile and waved toward him.

Reportedly, Dhoni and Sakshi are in Chennai for the trailer launch of the first movie by Dhoni Entertainment Pvt Ltd. Let’s Get Married. The skipper of the Chennai-based franchise in IPL, Dhoni received a grand welcome from the fans in the city. Some fans were chanting ‘Dhoni, Dhoni’ while some showered him with flowers.
