Top 5 Indian cricketers with most catches in WTC history
4. Cheteshwar Pujara
Specialist Test batter and dependable slip fielder Cheteshwar Pujara for the Indian team has contributed significantly with 21 catches in the World Test Championship (WTC). Notably, the top-order batter took 34 matches to be on the elite list of the WTC.
However, this places him as the fourth-highest among Indian players and the 18th-highest overall in terms of catches taken during the WTC. In addition, Pujara’s commendable fielding prowess is evident in his consistent performances, achieving the milestone of two catches in a match on six occasions.
Meanwhile, the great batter is not part of Team India and didn’t get the chance in the Test series against the West Indies and South Africa. He is a big miss in the ongoing England Test series as he failed to show his talent when India needed him most in the WTC Final 2023 in both innings.
