India is locking horns with Australia and the first test is currently being played in Nagpur. The visitors won the toss and elected to bat first. For the hosts, there are two debutants, Suryakumar Yadav and KS Bharat, while Australians brought in Todd Murphy.

Team India got to a magnificent start as they picked two quick wickets of openers Usman Khwaja and David Warner when the team’s score was two runs. Both batters were sent back to the pavilion when they were at the score of one run each. Khwaja was dismissed by Mohammad Siraj and Warner was dismissed by Mohammad Shami.

The first ball of the second over bowled by Shami was a cracker of a delivery. It was a length ball that came back in. The ball took the inside edge before it ripped out the off-stump, and it looked like the off-stump did a cartwheel.

Siraj dismissed Khwaja on the first ball of his spell. He asked Rohit to take a review as it seemed to miss the stumps at first. They, however,  took the review and it was given out.

After 32 overs, the world’s two best batters Steve Smith and Marnus Labuschange are on the crease. Smith is batting on 19 runs, with three fours and Labuschange is batting on 47 runs, with eight fours. The team score is 76 runs with a loss of 2 wickets.

The Indian Cricket Board invited the families of Suryakumar and Bharat to attend the Test cap presentation ceremony inside the stadium. Rahul Dravid, the head coach, congratulated both Indian players and shook hands with their families.

On the third day of the first Test match between India and New Zealand in Kanpur in 2021, Bharat took over the gloves for India in place of  Wriddhiman Saha due to his neck stiffness.

The second match of the series will be played in Delhi on February 17, the third one will be played in Dharamshala on March 1, and the final Test will be played in Ahmedabad on March 9.
